My Summer Car - Speedrun (No Commentary) Inspection % Current Build - Stable Release (May 29 2020) = Rules: The goal of the speedrun is to pass the inspection. Time starts when I gain control of the character and ending is when I review the Inspection paperwork showing that I have passed the Inspection. = This run utilizes the tractor tow line glitch to pull the tractor at high speeds and under water. = Possible time saves: (1) Mansion table... (2) The car didn't get lined up in the garage straight when pushing it in. This resulted in it flipping in the garaged a lot of time was lost trying to correct this. (3) Due to the car being in an odd position, I dropped a few parts under the car while trying to straighten it. I had to push the car even more to get the parts out. (4) You can tune the carburetor before attaching it to the engine. I miscounted my mouse wheel clicks and the carb was improperly tuned meaning I had to fix this before Lindell did his inspection. = The routing for this run felt really solid and I don't feel like there is any faster method I can do to getting to the different parts/locations on the map. The main issue with this run comes from the car being improperly positioned in the garage when I pushed it in with the tractor. I may have to drive the tractor in next time so I have more control directing the Satsuma. Because the Satsuma was positioned poorly, the car fell into the garage pit and a lot of time was lost trying to correct this issue, even needing the tractor to pull the car out at the end. The car build itself went very good and I don't think there were any unnecessary tool swaps during the main build. There is one moment when I was bolting the lower bolts for the passenger side strut when our position updated, or rather, we slid down the car and what we were looking at suddenly changed. This occurred because we were standing slightly on the car when it was at an angle and us sliding down it. Unfortunately, it does give the impression of a spliced run and I don't like how that looks. During the last run, I used a save-quit to advance time to when we could see Lindell. There is still debate amongst the MSC speedrun community whether we should be keeping timers going during the load times or not. In order to avoid any issue with that, I now sleep during the run. This lets me avoid any save-quit issues and also lets me get to Fleetari when he's open so I can grab the 13mm ratchet, and get to Lindell when he's open. It is consistent, so I think it's better this way anyway instead of using a save-quit. During practice runs (or should I say, runs I failed due to whatever small thing), I did manage a time of 01:07:xx. The build wasn't optimized with that run and the car was overheating fast, so I had to drive slower, but presumably, with a run like that, I could pull this run to an 01:05:xx, or sub 01:05. With the approach of the 1.0 release of the game, I'm unsure if I want to try to get a faster time than this one. Maybe if the run time gets beaten. It has been decided in the MSC speedrun community that following the 1.0 release, we will archive all speedruns before 1.0 and we will start anew. With that information, rather than try to clean up any last few minutes and seconds we can squeeze out of the run, maybe sitting back and relaxing and just waiting is the best thing to do for now. Regardless, I'll still be doing streams of this live on Twitch, and if I do attempt anymore serious speedrun attempts, then they will be done offline so I can focus on what needs to be done. Over the last few weeks, there has been a TON of new updates to My Summer Car, including the "Railroad is not a highway" update... and everyone thought the speedruns would get slower. BUT they have become faster!!! This new World Record is the first sub-26-minute "Drive to First Intersection" run with a time of 25 minutes, 12 seconds, and 470 ms. This specific category is called Drive To First Intersection- DTFI Goal of the run is to build the satsuma as fast as you can and drive it down the road until you hit the road sign at the intersection. Sounds simple? Welcome to RNG insanity because this SPEED-RUN category is pure SAATANA! After 3 days of ONLINE suffering this speed-run on Twitch, I finally finished the run with the time of 22 minutes and 18 seconds!!! With many new UPDATES from December we encountered problems along the way. Such as MANSION TIRES at 1% condition which makes everything a tad slower and not to mansion how RAILROAD is PERKELE so we have to avoid grass at all times. However, My Summer Car speed-run community is very strong so we gathered around and throw few ideas and finally build I would say, PERFECT RUN. Yes, this time can be even better, but I'll leave that for somebody else. :D We started speed-running this category 1 year ago and from 1 hour long runs we came to the point where only sky is a limit. Good run. Not much to improve
The goal of this run is to get to and WIN the first rally of the game on a new save as fast as possible. It's been a journey but we finially got a solid run plus the win in under 3 hours! I know it doesn't sound fast but for this game, I think it is. Of course it wasn't perfect and could be optimised but for now I'm extremely happy with this PB. NOW LET'S SEE SOMEONE BEAT IT! WHAT IT DO GANG! Alright, The Cousin Rally is probably one of my favourite My Summer Car speedrunning strats. When speedrunning on Twitch, I get asked how we can go so fast with Cousin without crashing. And it is actually pretty easy! And, despite all the updates (except for the "Railroad is not a Highway" update that affected cousin for like a week), Pena is always happy to take us on a rip. Speed run in MY SUMMER CAR game. I had many fails due to the bad weather in the game which is a big key in the speed run, for example, bad weather causes bad vision on the road and especially under the water. There is also money that I had to pay attention to. Every time I would start a run and had a bad weather or got less than 350 Markka I would redo the run. New Kekmet glitch allowed me to drive under the water so I could have cut some time plus I was able to drive pretty fast. Considering Kekmet is not very stable vehicle there was many fails as well on driving it and dying mid the run or just flipping it over. Eventually we got run and this was the one. Current Build - Stable Release (May 29. 2020.) - Played on experimental version of the game(latest update) Rules: The goal of the speed run is to pass the inspection. Time starts when I gain control of the character and ending is when I get licence plates and review the Inspection paperwork showing that I have passed the Inspection. I would be able to get better time on my jumping and parking Kekmet on the other side of the mansion or just better general control over my character and tractor. Better time was possible on the shop since I stuck on the wall and did not put groceries in the tractor from the store but instead went back and forth to pick them up again. I would save more time if I didn't bolted clock, radio, air filter, boot lid and bumpers. They are not necessary for the inspection. Without sleeping in the run I would have to save the game 2x before Lindell open the inspection shop and that will take some time + sleeping decreased fatigue so I didn't had to worry about that. Also I did not had to buy new battery, coolant, oil filter and sausages but I had extra money so i took advantage of it. Old battery and old oil filter works just fine for the car build. You can urinate in the radiator instead of using coolant. It won't affect your car running. For anyone wondering why I was not watching smoke when I was tuning carburetor it is because I have pattern I always follow in order to pass inspection without tuning it with AFR gauge. Scroll down 40 times( it can be less but this is just to be sure) then scroll up 36 times. This will set up AFR to 14.7. I had to maintain engine warm and drive slower to the town because car was driving for the first time and you do not want it to start smoking from the engine bay. This is why I checked the color of the smoke at the inspection and not before. Just to be sure it is proper color, otherwise I will fail inspection on emissions. When I was leaving the house I kept pressing F9 but the game glitched out and I could have seen only bathroom walls. I wanted to check if smoke was OK but couldn't see anything. Regardless, it got fixed itself in the meanwhile. Speedrun in MY SUMMER CAR game. This run went pretty smooth considering I had to time everything with cousins arrival. Such as getting tires from mansion before he arrives at the mansion and as well train schedule. If I was slightly slower and did engine primer I would miss cousin on the mansion and if we were slower after wheels drop at Fleetari's we would get hit by a train next to my house because train passes at 20 mins into the run and we were there just seconds before that. For this to avoid I had to control cousin and his speed and this is what I did with flipping him off to go faster or cussing or waving to slow down. It was pain at 1st because we died many times but eventually I got the run I was looking for. My Summer Car - Speedrun (Live Commentary) Inspection % Current Build - Stable Release (May 29 2020) = Rules: The goal of the speedrun is to pass the inspection. Time starts when I gain control of the character and ending is when I review the Inspection paperwork showing that I have passed the Inspection. = This run is pure MSC. There are no glitches used. Time is a little tight at the start of the run as we need to get a lot done before we can leave in a short amount of time. = Possible time saves: (1) When driving home from town, I had to double check to make sure I had the battery. Important, but if I was paying a little more attention earlier, we would have been fine. (2) Bolted the hood, bootlid and fuel tank on. This is not necessary for the inspection. We could have transported the bootlid and hood the same way we did the fender and bumpers. (3) Should have stopped the timer during the save/load sequence as out of game times are not counted to the run (due to some people having faster loading computers than others). (4) Just overall being faster with the build / better optimization for some tool swaps. = I feel satisfied with this run. This went very good. There were no large errors or problems with it. Even having the car bounce out of the garage pit wasn't that big of an issue since we could push it easily back with the wheels installed on. The underwater tractor thing I did before is no longer possible. The tractor would save me ultimately about 3-4 minutes from our final time if it was still doable. Still plenty good for this run. I can see future runs with this shaving off possible 2-3 minutes of time, so a sub 01:25 is definitely possible. To save time, maybe next time I'll commentary in post rather than live so I wont do small pauses to explain what I'm doing.
